Centre VR helps schools hit Gatsby Benchmarks

Centre VR is passionate about supporting schools in all they do. This includes hitting their Gatsby Benchmarks for Good Career Guidance.

When students visit us at our largest VR arenas in the world, they can choose to have a talk with one of our staff about careers in Virtual Reality. We also take part in events run at schools and universities supporting their current and prospective students.

We recently attended Poole High School as part of their Speed Networking Event.

On the 13th July they hosted a Year 10 Careers Speed Networking Event. Over 300 students met with more than 30 guests from a variety of industry sectors, charities and alumni as they shared their career path experiences. Their young people were helped to understand the various educational opportunities open to them post 16; what makes the ideal candidate when applying for university or employment; completing applications; CVs; interview tips and techniques and managing changing situations. Centre VR was happy to be part of this event to support so many students.

Centre VR can help schools with The eight Gatsby benchmarks of Good Career Guidance by;

Encounters with employers and employees – providing opportunities for students to meet different members of our staff

Experiences of workplaces – working towards offering work experience placements

Encounters with further and higher education – connecting primary, secondary, college and university students and staff through our coding & game design events

Personal guidance – making ourselves available to careers staff as needed
